Behold, The Lamb Of God - Part 2

In the Old Testament, sin was covered up by the blood of sacrificial animals. In John 1:29, Jesus is described not as covering up, but as taking away the sin of the world. The whole sacrificial system of the Old Testament was meant to point to Jesus’ sacrifice. Mike shows us the unity of the Bible as we explore this theme of complete removal of sin by the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus.

“Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” This has only been said about Jesus, He takes away the sin of the world. This is what Easter is all about. In order to gain a better appreciation of what Jesus did for us, we need to understand the system of Old Testament sacrifices that served as a foreshadowing of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross.
